Throughout Christianity, the one thing to unite them was, and is, Jesus, his death, resurrection, and soon coming.  Communion for the early church was important to keep them united.  When Paul writes his letter to the Corinthians, he has found out there is disunity.  Are you experiencing unity in the church?  Let us commune in a worthy manner.
